Grace Church plans one-day New York trip

EDEN PRAIRIE — On Tuesday, March 20, a group from Grace Church in Eden Prairie will charter a plane and take a one-day trip to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The purpose of the trip is to observe a “worship-based prayer” service.

“I have been leading these kinds of prayer gatherings for many years,” Daniel Henderson, pastor at Grace Church, said. “However, we have learned some things from Pastor Cymbala, which we have been able to incorporate.”

A group from Grace took a similar trip in 2005, but this time organizers opened the invitation to other churches. Travelers will leave the MSP airport at 6 a.m., arrive at JFK, take the subway to BTC, eat at the church, meet with Cymbala, eat dinner, attend the Tuesday night service, and fly back to the Twin Cities by 2 a.m.

“It is an intense day but we avoid the complicated and expensive transportation and lodging issues in the city,” Henderson said.

The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, which usually doesn’t sing at the Tuesday night services, will make a special appearance at the service. Visit www.atgrace.com for more information.
