| ST. PAUL — Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life’s programs for young people are educating a new generation of pro-life leaders. The group’s Student Day at the Capitol is at the forefront of MCCL initiatives to meet “an incredible swell of pro-life convictions among young people,” according to Pam Abbate, MCCL youth programs coordinator.
Due to increased demand for programming, the 5th annual MCCL Student Day at the Capitol will be offered twice this spring: first on March 22 for grades 10-12, and again on March 29 for grades 7-9.
“All students in grades 7-12 who are interested in government and want to learn how to get involved in the pro-life movement should attend,” Abbate said.
MCCL Student Day at the Capitol events include: information sessions on how a bill becomes a law, current pro-life issues and legislation, a tour of the Capitol and meetings with legislators. Students will also learn how to bring the pro-life message back to their school or community and how they can stay involved in the pro-life movement.
Registration forms can be found online at www.mccl.org or by calling (612) 825-6831. A nominal $8 donation is requested for each student attending, which includes lunch. Student Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Each date is limited to 300 participants. The registration deadline for the March 22 event is March 12; the deadline for the March 29 event is March 19.
